Moving and more

You all know we like a quiet life, and this year will be no different. I've decided to accept a position as Music & Media Librarian at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, and we're moving in a month. Moves are always bittersweet, and we'll really miss our friends and coworkers in Ames, but we're also excited about the possibilities for where we're headed. I've long wished that I could work with the music department more directly and help out more with graduate and faculty research, and this job offers both. As for Laura, there are more options available in such a big city.
If all that weren't enough, we're also expecting another child in May. Yes, Simon's finally going to have a sibling. It's all a bit of a blur, but that's nothing new. Please buy our house! ;)

we're here in Ames for Christmas. Rather than trying to go nuts and fly all over the place, we thought it'd be fun to actually have our own little holiday for once and we're going to be in Seattle for a little bit in February instead. Hopefully in the summer, too, though we'll have to see how the baby thing goes on that one ;)
As for the move... it's going. Our house is spanking clean, because it needs to be so for showings; our neighbors are buying some of our stuff so we won't have to move it; we got a free Christmas tree because our neighbors were leaving town early; I moved back my starting date to the 9th of January because things seemed a little too crazy. That's the news for now!
Also: I fixed the problem where you typed http:// and it screwed up. And I fixed your url so it'd point to your blog. also, you commenters might want to know what kinds of tricks you can use, I should probably write that up, too...
